SARAH FROST

Sarah is a self-taught artist from Norwich. Although she faced numerous challenges in her early years - including an absent father, undiagnosed ADHD, and a family history of addiction. Despite these obstacles, Sarah found solace in art, particularly in creating large pastel pieces during her school years. However, a fear of failure caused her to abandon her artistic pursuits for many years. Four years ago, Sarah rekindled her love for art through drop-in sessions at The Matthew Project. This experience reignited her passion, and she has since become the art facilitator there, a role she has held for the past 14 months. Sarah views this as one of her most significant achievements, especially as it allows her to use art as a therapeutic tool for those in recovery. Sarah's artistic style is a fusion of Pop Art and Realism, with a particular emphasis on acrylics due to their boldness. She is captivated by faces that convey a story through their expressions, often drawing inspiration from iconic yet troubled figures like Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. Music plays an essential role in her creative process, helping her to hyper-focus and transform her struggles into art. Sarah's journey is a testament to the inclusive power of art, showing that it can be a vital tool for mental health recovery regardless of one's background. She aspires to push her artistic boundaries further, explore abstract art, and gain the confidence to exhibit her work more broadly.
